Consists of Peter Constantine's literary translations of German and Russian authors. Present are a pre-publication manuscript of Thomas Mann: six early stories, first submitted to Fiction magazine in 1995, published by Sun and Moon Press, Los Angeles, 1997; a draft submission of The complete works of Isaac Babel in two separate sections, and the final manuscript (although incomplete) as submitted to Norton in the spring of 2001. Each item is preceded by an explanatory note from the translator.
